Tiara Manuel

July 18, 2021 -

Tiara has always had a servant’s heart. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology to become a counselor, in 2016, she had the opportunity to become a camp counselor for The Muscular Dystrophy Association which ignited her passion for working with kids with disabilities. In 2017, she moved from Georgia to San Antonio after being presented with an opportunity to work as a tutor and mentor to students in at-risk schools.  Through this opportunity, Tiara was able to make a difference in student’s lives by helping to change their outlook on life and raise their grades in their English classes. Subsequently, discovering that she really enjoys working in the classroom, and decided to intertwine her passion with something that she enjoys doing together by applying to work as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for NEISD in 2018.  Working as a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant has enhanced her knowledge about students with disabilities and allows her to reach/teach students on a different spectrum.

The mission and core values at Great Hearts align more with Tiara’s values which encouraged her to join such a phenomenal team. Furthermore, she got married in July 2020. Shortly after, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in September 2020.  Tiara enjoys spending time with family and traveling the country.
