June 5, 2020 -
Reed Hanson is eagerly anticipating the start of his career at Great Hearts Live Oak. Having spent eight years in Austin during his middle and high school years, Reed is thrilled to have the opportunity to work and live and enjoy where he feels most at home and where he belongs, Texas. He is an avid historian and classicist and delights greatly in a classical education setting in modern society, something that immediately sparked his interest when he first heard about the Great Hearts charter network. He is inspired by the work and the dedication Great Hearts makes to a classical education and is greatly impressed by the academic rigor and commitment to the development of the full student Great Hearts is called to cultivate.
Reed graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies and a minor in Religion, developing a passion for Ancient Rome, Church History, and Theology while in college. He enjoys books and sports and is an avid traveler, having been captivated by numerous incredible and life-changing experiences while studying and traveling abroad. He is very thankful for the opportunity to work under and alongside a brilliant cast of educators and to share his passions with younger kids and looks forward to the coming school year!
