Rebecca Rosenthal
June 5, 2020 -
Ms. Rosenthal will be joining Great Hearts Live Oak as the founding Latin teacher. After being introduced to Latin in middle school, she has been fascinated with the insight ancient languages and cultures provide on our modern life. She holds an Honors degree in Ancient Greek and Art History from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the rigorous Summer Greek Institute of Brooklyn College. While in college, she helped establish a collaborative program between Swarthmore students and local elementary schools teaching introductory Latin and literacy classes. She has also served as a teaching assistant for introductory Greek courses and a writing and speaking tutor.
In addition to learning and teaching classics, Ms. Rosenthal loves knitting, sewing and is an avid trivia fan. She has worked in theatrical wardrobe and costume design for several years and was the founding president of the Swarthmore College quiz bowl team. She has also spent a summer in an archaeological field school working on the Horrea Agrippiana site in the Roman Forum.
