Darlene McKeen
June 5, 2020 -
Ms. McKeen is a San Antonio native with a life-long love of children. After being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling her own children for 16 years, she returned to the workforce as the children’s director of First Baptist Church – Floresville. At the same time, she went back to college and completed a BS in Business Management. As a stay-at-home mom, she served as director of two different homeschool groups and volunteered extensively in both her church and community. She completed the Texas Baptists’ Childhood and Family Ministry Certification, the Institute for Integrated Nutrition’s Holistic Health Coaching certification program and is almost finished with Baylor’s Truett Seminary’s Advanced Ministry Certification program.
She enjoys cooking old-fashioned comfort food and loves to read and research. On weekends, it is not uncommon for Ms. McKeen and her children to load up and drive wherever her SUV takes them to explore. As a life-long learner, she is excited to dig in and learn more about the Great Hearts philosophy to education. Ms. McKeen is looking forward to joining Great Hearts Live Oak as a Math Interventionist and Campus Testing Coordinator.
