Caroline Berry

June 5, 2020 -

Caroline Berry is joining the Great Hearts Live Oak campus with 5 years’ experience as a K-12 Special Education teacher. She has a genuine belief in classical education as it mirrors her experience as a native student in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Her bilingual education and own personal experience with a disability motivated her to complete a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies in EC-6 Generalist that included a minor in Special Education at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2014. Once she began her career as a Special Education teacher and RTI Coordinator, she sought to further her knowledge and completed a Master’s degree in General Education Technology with a graduate certificate in Competency Based Education in 2017 at Capella University to support students with needs that are met with technology resources. Her opportunity to service students as a life skills teacher inspired her to grow professionally and complete a Graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2020 and is in the process of obtaining her Board-Certified Behavior Analyst certificate and licensing in the state of Texas.

Mrs. Berry has lived in Texas for over 10 years, 6 in the San Antonio area. She is the mother of twin girls and 4 dogs (including one rambunctious husky). She enjoys going with her husband and daughters to the San Antonio Zoo and SeaWorld in the hopes to teach her girls the value of all life. She is the proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, the older sister of an Air Force Active Duty soldier and wife of a USAA employee. Honoring and servicing underserved communities including children with disabilities, military members and animal advocacy is at the core of the Berry family. Her hobbies include playing video games, taking walks with her pups and being amongst nature, especially in the enchanting island of Puerto Rico. WEPA!
