Mrs. Hughes is new to Great Hearts this year and new to Texas. She is delighted to join the Great Hearts Live Oak community as an Apprentice Teacher serving in our 5th grade classrooms!
Mrs. Hughes grew up in Bakersfield, CA, and joins us after living in Wiesbaden, Germany for seven years, where her husband worked for the U.S. Government. With five boys of her own, she has spent much of her life interacting with children. Through her experiences living in different states and countries, and seeing her children navigate the public school system, Mrs. Hughes has developed strong insights into what educational environments best support students’ growth.
She has always felt that working in education would be the perfect fit, and is excited to be at Great Hearts, where she can help children become the best versions of themselves. Mrs. Hughes looks forward to creating a joyful, nurturing, and academically rich environment for every child she teaches.
